It's not that complicated really. You have two stars that orbit each other, and from our point of view they pass in front of each other while they orbit. So by studying how the brightness changes over the orbit we can learn things like how massive the stars are and some other properties. If I can get a model that matches what we see then It will help put estimates on the properties of the stars.
Too bad about being sick. Hopefully it passes soon.

Hi, well nothing good for starting. today I just failed my french exam and what is worse people around me were cheating like nothing and the teacher like if nothing were happening. what I can conclude from this? 2 things: one, the test was hard, hard enough to make most of my classmates cheat his way to approve and second my teacher kinda doesn't give a shit about us, I mean how easy is to take out your smarthphone, type the question and find a answer without the teacher noticing?
tomorrow I have another big test, and if I fail this one… well I don't wanna see what happens next.

Thank you people. I want to explain myself a little bit more. my Uni have a system that I have the main course and then all my other courses comes from pass this main class. if I fail to pass the main course I get negated to do any other course for the rest of the year until the next year comes, try again and hope for the best.
well my main course is divided into 3 "smaller" courses and all this smaller courses have individual exams. after 2 and a half month we have a "mid-term" exam that worths the 20% of ALL 3 MINI COURSES together and the final Exam that worths 30% ALONE. this is 50% alone in 4 dates while the rest of the score is obtained throught plenty of other jobs that consume time and will. by the time the mid term and the final come most of us are dead tired and beaten from all the other jobs that were worthly of about 5% max of the final score.

The shape of the brightness over time for this type of system can tell you a lot actually. They won't look that clean for actual observations like in the diagram sadly. But that together with some other easily observable things like the time it takes them to rotate each other and a certain component of their speed can tell us a lot. With the aid of models like what I am trying to do we can get good estimates on the individual sizes and masses of the stars.
