And yeah, Karen's role in that was to pretty much both not be around Matt when he hits rock bottom, as well as feasibly getting the info to Kingpin that Matt = DD. Her porn star bit was always the weakest part of the story, as much as I love Elektra, and her relationship with Matt, it was the 80s way of admitting they didn't know how to write a 60s era love interest. Plus they already alluded to Karen having a shifty past, so who knows what will happen with her. Kingpin just needs a way to get the info so that the shit can hit the fan. And when you compare Karen to Jessica Jones, JJ's full cast of characters, the women in Iron Fist, and the Night Nurse, Karen is actually written well. Actually a character, who promotes concealed carry for self defense in New York.
