Would Mechs be viable in modern warefare?
Theoretical situation where we do build bipedal mechs in the near future, how would they fare againts current armored units?
Wouldn't a tank be able to incapacitate one pretty easily since mechs would have more moving joints. Compared to a tank who's enclosed in a shell of armor.
Complete Demonbane pastebin, now with Nitroplus Blasters
Nitroplus Blasters story mode
Yoguruma Mugen makes a copy of Al Azif out of the fragments left over from all of the infinite universes where Demonbane lost, Al Azif Ex Mortis. Upon defeat she becomes one with Al, who gets all the memories of those worlds, and her soul becomes whole.
Al Azif's soul is one of the three things Mugen needs, and she moves on to working on the next one, the Silver Key
Nitroplus Blasters "another story mode"
Mugen summons people from various Nitro games to re-enact some events that took place before Demonbane, in which a necromancer tries to use the Silver Key to summon a great old one to use as a new body.
The necromancer is defeated but manages to get away and ends up joining Master Therion (it's suggested that he's Tiberius).
The re-enactment enables Mugen to get the Silver Key, and she already had the third thing she needed, the Shining Trapezohedron.
It turns out that Demonbane was supposed to keep fighting the outer gods for all eternity and thus keep the universe running, but it grew too powerful and became the "Vortex Destroyer", AKA Demonbane the Vortex Blaster, and used its "Ouroboros Blaster" to kill Azathoth which also destroyed the multiverse and all of causality, and all universes past present and future are now withering and dying.
Demonbane is one moment away from completely destroying everything, but Mugen = Yog Sothoth is making that moment stretch out for an eternity, and is putting together shards of destroyed worlds to make one last world where Azathoth can be reborn.

Help, im going crazy... ;__;
I don't know why, but i can't help but to find those spark effects in Power Rangers/Super Sentai fascinating, in fact, i would love to somehow shoot a fanmade episode with people as dedicated to Super Sentai/Power Rangers as i am. In an old VHS behind the scenes video an ex Power Rangers-Staff Member filmed during the filming of a dairanger episode they showed how those used to function.Anyway, from the fast-paced editing,in-your-face real effects, stiff and strong fighting style and overall fun action, I just want to do it too, for the sake of having fun doing it,that would be a dream come true.
Help with painting Graze's "eyeball"
Any techniques I can use to get a clean paint for the details on the eyeball?
I tried hand paint using orange yellow enamel and whiping it with thinner soaked cotton bud though its still not very clean. The pupil is especially hard because using the bud to clean the iris also wipes the paint off the pupil.
I'm also not very good precise cutting masking tape to this level of detail.
Look what got a remake on PS4
Old news from December that didn't turn up anywhere.
Attack Suit Leynos that originally came out from Sega Genesis/Megadrive got a remake for PS4. Leynos is part of the Attack Suit series that started out with 2 vastly different games on both major 16 Bit System of the 90s.The other one was Attack Suit Valken. The main reason for their infamy in the West is the release of both games in the west under different names in more or less castrated forms. Valken came out as Cybernator and Leynos was called Target Earth.
I have dabbled a little in the series. They are good but very hard for me, especially Leynos. Maybe I am too retarded for these.
Does that mean the Assault Suits series will continue?

Gundam Extreme Vs. General
I recently imported Full Boost and I've been enjoying it a lot. I mostly play suits with lots of annoying gimmicks like the Gyan, GP02, Hildolfr, and Zaku Kai.It's probably a mortal sin to mention this because it's balanced for duos, but a friend and I like to play 1v1 duals sometimes.
I was wondering, where can I find resources to learn about the suits properties and how to get gud? I've been looking, and the only thing I've seen is the dustloop wiki and some arcade playthroughs on jewtube.
Anyone have favorite team comps, suits, or just recommendations in general? Like to hear what you guys think.
Board-tan
So we had a thread, when this board's started, about updating /m/tan's design. Months later, with the tread gone, and the dust settled, you guys want to tackle that again?
I've personally been going with this suggestion I had made, on the left, just switching the 8ch logo back to the M. I like this as it's still simple to draw, it's still similar to the original (indicating there wasn't really any rupture), it's just a custom paintjob. Doesn't feel resentful, as Punished /v/ does.
The others, which I did based on other drawfag's proposals, I feel get a bit too complex- a good board-tan is visually distinct yet simple, you know?
Anyways, /m/-tan thread. Post images you have you like, even if it's of the halfchan version. Do new art. Suggest design variations, whatever. Let's have some fun.

I Can't Believe & The Kindergarten Kids' original release of Robot Girls Z had a Crabstick sub track included as a joke. Of course they only did the first three episodes while HorribleSubs did the rest. Whoever did the Blu-Ray version of RGZ used I Can't Believe & The Kindergarten Kids and HorribleSubs as the source but they left out the crabsticks. If you have MD's Blu-Ray rip of the show and want to watch the crabsticks I ripped them with MKVCleaver. Just add them to the first episode with MKVToolNix or a program of the sort and you're good to go.
The link for the subs file is here:

If you can't figure out how to add the subs file or can't I can upload the video file with the subs merged on request.
The Hygogg had some of the best moments of an amphibious suit on screen.
The Acguy is a cultural staple due to its adorable appearance, yet it was a capable infiltrator and clearly a dangerous weapon as demonstrated by 08th MS team.
The Gogg's claws were one of the few weapons that could scratch the original Gundam's armor.
The Juagg is the derpiest looking MS of all time, but it was capable of taking out suits from the Zeta era thanks to its thick armor and heavy weapons.
Why do amphibious suits get shafted? They have unique, if strange designs and just about the only recent stuff with them was Unicorn.I find they can come off as derpy sometimes, but stuff like 0080 and Unicorn proves that an underwater mecha can have teeth. Why don't we see them more in Gundam and Mecha as a whole? Aside from Mars Daybreak
Hello /m/,
I have some spare time on my hands and decided that I finally want to get into the mecha genre, and would like to ask you for help. The sheer volume of some franchises and releases kept me from navigating them, especially since I don't really know how to measure the quality of individual releases; my previous experience with the genre mainly comes from playing AC (4, FA, VD) and the original Steel Battalion.
Since there's no concise overview in your sticky, maybe my lack of experience can be of profit to you. I'm more than willing to subsume any information and resources into an easily shareable format.
I'm aware that there's not much I'm bringing to the table myself, and I'm sorry if my inquiry offends you in any way.
tl;dr: I can't into mecha and require directions, offer willingness and proficiency with green peppers.

a trailer I found
Windom SV
so two years ago at Comiket 83, the dudes that made Windom showcased SV Lite, a demo version of a new Windom game apparently based more around the EXVS series. I don't know if it was actually available because it was never up for online purchase but it seemed to have some sort of account system (uh-oh). they went completely silent after that.
then all of a sudden, they showed a new trailer for Comiket 89 and said they'd have a booth on Day 3. I dunno anyone that actually went so I can only wait for it to show up on DLsite or some shit.
Windom general?
>younger friends talking about different anime they like, mostly into slice of life and waifus but are mostly open minded to new stuff
>they ask what you like
>mention mecha shows like Gaogaigar,Shin Getter, Gundam and Super Robot Wars games
>friends check it out of curiosity
>"LMAO what is this shit?! Goldion crusher? Why does they keep talking about courage? These gundams are unrealistic and could never work in real life. How can you like this garbage?!"
Have any similar stories about people reacting to your love for mecha?
Dougram was nice, especially liked how it compared the breaking away of a colony from it's mother country to a young man reaching adulthood and leaving home, but why didn't they just use tanks instead of giant robots? Aside from the bits where Dougram jumps around to dodge shots most battles would flow in exactly the same way, and it would have been much more effective as a guerrilla warfare show without the real robot elements tacked on.
The quadrupedal tank things from early on are especially stupid, probably one of the most impractical mecha designs I've seen yet.
Does anyone know if Bandai's re-release of the Gundam series on bluray throughout this year and next will cover the OVAs? I'd really love an affordable copy of Stardust Memory and MS Team. Seems weird they want to release ZZ but wouldn't do those series as well.
Has there been anymore word on it? I know the first half of Zeta on bluray comes out in march.
Good old super robot shows
What robot shows from the 70s are regarded as the best? I'd like to watch most of them eventually (well, the subbed ones).
I really like dated animation, I think its kind of charming, so that's not an issue with me.
Please only 60s/70s stuff, no 80s. I'm in a very retro mood.
For creative purposes
How would this shit move, /m/
It's obviously a fortress so the main body needs to be stable enough for the soldiers standing on top
Not to mention, how would it prevent itself from toppling and falling over if someone landed a hit when it was standing in one foot
Pls help
Old timer here...wtf is Demonbane?
Can someone just sum this up for me? I started getting into mecha again, watching good ol'clips of Shin Getter and GGG but in comments I see people talking about Demonbane this Demobane that. People are saying its the best mech ever.
Is the anime actually good or is it simply like Naruto/DBZ where its something with inflated destructive levels in its respective universe?
I could go into GaoGaiGar, Shin Getter and even TTGL because I enjoyed the shows enough but is Demonbane something that's enjoyable for a mecha fan?

King of Braves: GaoGaiGar / GaoGaiGar FINAL
I know that this series is an old /m/ favourite, so I started watching it a little while ago. I just got to the end of FINAL just now and I wanted to share my thoughts.
I absolutely adored this series. While it takes it a while to hit high gear (The first arc of the story is good but it's fairly repetitive monster-of-the-week stuff) some of the later episodes of the original series and the conclusion of FINAL scratched an itch for me that hasn't been scratched since I first watched Gurren Lagann.
You can definitely tell that this was originally made for kids, the character and robot designs are pretty outlandish, it has a fair few annoying "kiddy" characters throughout (fuck Mic Sounders) and follows a fairly rigid formula for a while, but I was hugely entertained regardless. While the original series is a slog at 49 episodes, it's worthwhile on its own merits and is requisite viewing to give you context for FINAL, which contains some of the most stirring mecha action that I've ever seen. I wish I'd known about GaoGaiGar when I was about 10 years old, it would have blown my fucking mind back then.
Long story short, if you're a fan of super robot series that play up GUTS and COURAGE then this is probably mandatory viewing. Yes, I am aware that I'm probably preaching to the choir but I think it bears emphasising regardless.
I just wish that FINAL didn't have such a bittersweet ending ;_;7
Anyone else have any thoughts regarding this great old series?
Mecha and the West?
Why do you think that mecha seems to fail so horribly in the west? In the Early 2000s they made Megas XLR. The writing was fun, and it helped alleviate the low budget animation. It still got canned despite being decently popular.
Then years later Sym-bionic titan came along. It had actually good animation and it was a pretty good, if vanilla, super robot show. It also got canned despite having a decent viewership and it got even less episodes than Megas, which ended with the series being rushed towards a conclusion.
Then we have Pacific Rim, which also was decent, but it got panned critically, and people hated it for reason ranging from "not being realistic" to "being dumb".
Why do you think the genre just doesn't stick in the west despite other cartoons being made with clear anime genres influence?

God I hate Discotek
Shin Mazinger is easily one of my favorite /m/ cartoons of all time so I was pretty excited when I found out I would finally get to own a physical copy. But when I saw who was licensing it I was a bit concerned it would be DVD only with no blu ray release. And lo and behold my fears came true.
With something like the original Mazinger Z I can understand because the series was meant for standard defintion tvs and never had a blu ray release before. But Shin Mazinger was made in HD, broadcasted in HD, and released on blu ray everywhere it was released except North America. The first time I watched Shin Mazinger was in HD. It was on an old emachines computer with a 1.6 ghz single core processor and onboard video which is why it stuttered every few minutes but I saw it in HD.
We're entering the year 2016 pretty soon. Blu ray players first came out in 2006 yet there are still many DVD-only releases for more niche things. Hell even the 2012 Jojo's Bizarre Adventure which was relatively popular is DVD-only. So DVD came out in 1997 right? So imagine if in 2007 whatever anime was getting licensed at the time was still VHS only. I know it wouldn't make sense because DVDs are cheaper to print and can hold more content than VHS but it's not too far from what's happening now. I mean if you're going to spend the money to license it, translate it, and package it to be sold at a price well above mainstream releases you might as well not poorfag on the format, especially when the format is almost 10 years old.
>So I was very upset when I saw Evangelion, because it was apparent to me that the people who made it weren't thinking at all about making fun for or gaining the sympathy of the audience. Instead they tried to convince the audience to admit that everybody is sick, practically in the middle of a nervous breakdown, all the time. I don't think you should show things like that to everybody. It's not entertainment for the masses–it's much more interested in admitting that we're all depressed nervous wrecks, I thought. It was a work that told people it was okay to be depressed, and it accepted the psychological state that said if you don't like the way the world works, then it's okay to just pick up a gun and attack someone. I don't think that's a real work of art. When people see that, they begin to realize they are the same way. I think that we should try to show people how to live healthier, fuller lives, to foster their identity as a part of their community, and to encourage them to work happily until they die. I can't accept any work that doesn't say that.
What does /m/ make of this? Why would he say something so bitter and misinformed, about one of his biggest fans' works no less?
Haven't watched too much Gundam so I'm not too sure how this guy's thought process works (what I do know is that it's unpredictable).
The Big O
Relative newcomer to mecha stuff, got done watching this a little while ago. Thought it was pretty good overall (huge fan of the unique mecha designs and the music is awesome) but I'm still confused on some aspects of the plot, especially the ending.>That opening that throws you right into the conflict

Animation was really good for the most part, though there was some QUALITY here and there.
The subs were pretty disappointing though. Not even anything particularly funny, they were just kinda bad

I'll be updating the folder periodically with stuff I've unearthed. Pretty sure I have the old Shin-Getter subs for God Mazinger and the first ep to the Dunbine OVA somewhere.

Gundam Consumer Campaign.
I was thinking People in America who love gunpla.
Each instruction booklet has a proof of purchase.
We should send all of these that we own to bandai of Japan to maybe make a statement that there is more of a Market for Gunpla in the states.
Recently sprukits and LBX/Danball Senki is available for the US Market. So it seems Bandai is testing the marker for such a product.
I've heard that back around the 90's and early 00's that Gunpla was sparingly released in america and sold well, but they were never restocked even due to their success.
What do you think of my Idea. Is there a date like for the anniversary of Gunpla or Gundam that'd be a good date to try to organize such a mailing campaign. How Expensive would it be to mail a letter and the proof of purchases to bandai?
Do you think that such a consumer feedback would impact Bandai of Japans viewpoint. What about writing Bandai of America they did well with the Legacy MMPR line maybe their quality is improving.
Shindan sponsored Gunpla Tournament.
A new Gunpla Battle tournament is here! Use the shindan to make your team of 3. BFT Rules apply, so any Mobile Armors are on a team of their own.I'm curious what a military force in space would look like if there was Minovsky particle type handwave for why visual sensing isn't obsolete in space battles and combatants don't need to be brightly colored to sell toys. Has there been any real world research into camouflage for use in deep space?
Ay /m/, I was wondering if you could help me with something.

Apparently there's a debug patch out there for SRWW? I can't find it myself, my Google-fu is weak.
Broken Blade thread?
I just finished watching the sixth movie and I loved it. It had a few 'What?' moments, but overall I loved how its story and characters have come together and how they play with morality and war. It also helps that it was well animated.
Where do I go from here if I'm a fan of the series?
Kamille from Zeta is a twat
I just finished watching 0079 and now watching Zeta Ep 1 and 2.
What the fuck is wrong with Kamille?
>>Punches a Lieutenant as a civilian just because he said his same was "curious" for a guy.
>>Kicks military police interrogator in the face because he was pissed
>>Stole a car and almost got shot
>>Escaped from base only to come back just so he could get revenge
>>Hijacks a prototype military weapon
>>Ignores the fucking battle going on around him just so he could step on the Lieutenant
>>Helps the guys that are attacking his colony and destroyed his house.
Seriously, at least Amuro's reasoning had some logic and sense behind it. He's pissing me off /m/
The 29th day of the 4th month, in the year 45111
Langran, capital city of the Republic of Langran
"Enemy signatures detected! Ten thousand! Lots of relics, too!"
The report was just as Tanser Zenosakis had expected, but that was little comfort.
"Type and number of the relics?", captain Warek, the second-in-command, asked the messenger.
"Five hundred tanks, a hundred howitzers, four hundred armoured vehicles, and several other smaller ones."
"Five hundred tanks!?"
"That's ridiculous! Are you sure of this!?"
The messenger's words shocked the council, and Tanser too could scarcely believe it. 500 tanks was thought to be all the forces Ravana could possibly muster.
Relics were no different from expendable supplies. Though 100 years had passed since the end of the dark century, no country had yet been able to restore its technological and social infrastructures. All the nations were still rebuilding their storages of food, their public facilities, their ability to maintain order, their educational capabilities… The Second Ravana Empire was no different. Their industry was not yet developed or even stable enough to manafacture products of high technology like tanks. And with production out of the question, they could only repair what they already had. But tanks are delicate, sometimes breaking down from just traversing terrain. Age was also a problem. Most of the tanks' parts had degraded greatly over the last two centuries, and electronics were at this point pure scrap. To even get a single tank to work you'd have to scavenge parts from half a dozen.
"It seems that Zaham is throwing all of his armoured divisions into this one battle", spitted colonel Zenart. But Tanser wasn't sure. Capturing the capital city of Langran would of course be a big blow to the republic, but both the administrative body and civillians had already evacuated the city, only leaving the military behind. The Langran government had already expressed that the nation would resist the invasion with all its might, and Emperor Zaham should know that conquering the city would not be enough to force a surrender, that this battle would not be a decisive one.
Tanser was sure that Zaham wouldn't be foolish enough to send all of his forces to a single battlefield. The Ravana Empire was at war with more than just Langran, and while the battles with those other countries had currently been fought to stalemates, there was no way that the armoured divisions on the other frontlines could have all been withdrawn sent to Langran; If that were the case, Ravana would already have fallen.

BUSOUSHINKI IS BACK
Talk show summary points from twitter and Futaba translated:
-They hadn't even dreamed of this at this same point in time last year
-The new base is based on Machinica, the successor to MMS designed by Asai Masaki (but thankfully not owned by Konami). Unlike MMS which is sold as toys, Machinica will be sold as model kits. Of course this means they're less durable than MMS, but they'll be easier to repair, maintain and modify
-Obviously they licensed the rights to Busoushinki from Konami, and will be doing remakes of the existing ones (there'd be no point to getting the rights and then making new shit after all)
-The Shinki will be using their own unique variant of Machinica which has additional joints and details
-Unclear if this is referring to Machinica or just the new Shinki, but they use 3.2mm (i.e. they same standard as the original Shinki, so PARTS WILL BE COMPATIBLE)
-Shoulders have articulation this time
-Arnval first, Strarf next
-Machinica will be produced inside Japan and they'll be making lots of it to keep up with demand
-New Arnval's face is completely redone by the same guy who did the FAGs
This guy on twitter said he got permission and recorded the whole talk show and will be uploading it later so keep an eye on him
