>Why do you believe

God asked me to and then a while later I said ok.

<It's natural chemistry in brain. Some hormones are released and DMT is produced

You don't have proof of that.

<If holy book of christians is proof that christianity is true, why you don't believe in Allah? Quran is too holy book of muslims

The Church settles this issue. And it says Bible not other things. inb4 it just moves the problem. God said listen to the church so it ends there.

<Similar as in NDE, in very stressful situations DMT is produced

You don't have proof of that either.

<In other religions, healings are too

But there is only one healer, even if the healed don't acknowledge that properly or at alland as a convert to the faith I can assure you I did not acknowledge it for the longest time. Still God who was healing though.

<Jesus never aswered for my prayers, even if them were about mental health

I'm very sorry to hear that. Mental health is difficult and I have seen many problems it introduces. I hope your prayers get answered and I'll try to pray for you as well.

<If they woke from death, it was probably coma

Maybe but you can't prove this either.

Ultimately you'll have to either accept what God is telling you to do(believe) or not. Everything else is secondary and won't matter if you don't say yes to the question. Hope you get better and hope you can find faith.

Well, I don't merely say their name. I actively ask them for help. Why would it help? God most certainly listens to the requests of the Blessed Mother so if she requests that I get help then I'll get it and Jesus is the King of the Universe, of course he can fix my brain.

I'm going to show how much of a fool you are in one of your pathetic "debunkings", the one regarding NDEs

A huge amount of NDEs happen during a cardiac arrest that lasts for over 20 minutes. After around a minute, due to the lack of oxygen brain activity ceases completely. Not to mention that they also tend to happen while under general anesthesia, which removes completely the possibility of dreaming or having hallucinations.

They are also reported as compltely conscious. Actually, they are reported as more real than reality itself. This doesn't hapen with hallucinations.

They are also perfectly consistent, and do not include elements that are typical of hallucinations.

People who have had hallucinations as well as NDEs report them as completely different.

If it was your fictional "chemistry n' stuff lmao", then it would happen in far more than 10-20% of cases.

People who go through NDEs tend to see deceased people, including people they didn't even know (siblings that were miscarried before they were born) or who they believed were still alive.

There are many perfectly documented cases where people, in the first stage of a NDE (the out of body experience) perceive or see things that were completely beyond the reach of their senses, during the cardiac arrest. For example, a woman with the habit of memorising every single number she saw correctly identified the serial number of a ventilator unit that was only visible from the top of the room. A man once saw that on the top of a piece of forniture there was a 1985 coin. And so on.

Overall, there are a million causes why your nonsense is nothing more than laughing stock for those who are actually familiar with the topic. Of course, nobody in their right mind would make the random statement you made, and much less call it debunking, if it wasn't by your petty wishful thinking in which any cheap, pathetic excuse is enough for you to consider whatever "debunked".

>Christ's passion resulted in a coma that lasted 3 days, afterwards he was totally fine and hung out with His friends again.

Do you live under a rock, dude?

759c39  No.818967

I posted the following in a thread on /b2/ a while ago. I don't know how well I did, I just sort of wrote down what came to mind; but I put a lot of effort into it so I saved it as a txt file.

All I will tell you is to study philosophy and history. That's what I did, and I found that I philosophically agree with the church on almost everything and I feel that Christian doctrine is most conducive to a nations prosperity. So much so that even if I were to completely lose faith in the existence of God, I would continue to practice the religion just because I agree with it's values so strongly. The traditions of The Church provide a connection to the ancient past and the practices like fasting and routine prayer build self control and discipline.

The plethora of Saints provide a great number of archetypal figures to look up to, from all different walks of life and some of them have some truly fascinating stories from which to draw inspiration for your own endeavors.

If there is a natural law then those who follow that natural law are most likely to succeed and be rewarded while those who break the natural law are sure to be punished. If there is a natural law, then there is a natural lawmaker I.E. a god or gods or higher power. Christianity's dual-philosophy of altruism and self improvement appear to me as the most conducive to a people's prosperity and therefore must be the most accurate representation of natural law. It then follows that our (Christianity's) natural lawmaker (God/Jesus) is the right one.

Now about proving that God exists. It can't actually be done. God is something that can only be understood by faith. But before you dismiss this as being cultist poppycock, let me explain how you already understand plenty of things by faith alone already. There is no scientific or empirical evidence to suggest that mathematics is a real and objective thing. So if you believe in mathematics you already have as much faith as it would take to believe in God.

In the case that you are a nominalist (that you believe mathematics is not a real and objective thing but a system created by humans to make sense of the world around them), it is necessary for me to prove that mathematics is not just a human construct which I don't believe is too difficult. >Almost nothing about my life has changed in terms of behavior

Going off the health bar and message, I'm 90% sure its a mount and blade mod

How do you distinguish between relaxing/taking a day off and sloth?

f13ef8  No.816286

For me, it often coincided with procrastination and drinking, so I'd be sherking off my responsibilities and being often unable to since I was inebriated most the day. I found it best that, even on my days off, that I keep busy and occupied, because there's always something to do. Plus if I wanted to get what I wanted, I had to stop. No way getting a gf sitting at home playing video games and drinking. Best to work on yourself rather than lose yourself and your days off; days off aren't fully for relaxation, it's also for making something of your own time.

That's how it is for me at least.

It seems to me that you haven't surrendered yourself to God yet. Every part of our life which we do not surrender to Him, is a part wherein we are in rebellion. The more we are in rebellion, the less God will work in our life. Surrender is the key to overcoming sin and to having a fruitful walk with God.

Besides celebrated sodomy and widespread transgenderism. One of the first signs of a sick society about to collapse is widespread obesity and the celebration of being fat. Gluttony a seven deadly sin for a reason. I believe Dieting and exercise one of the first steps to salvation.

being overweight is already a sin so imagine obesity…

It's the sin of gluttony and slothness (too lazy to exercise, cock healthy food and practice a lot of sport to take care of your temple)

5436d2  No.818291

Obesity falls under the category of Gluttony, which is a mortal sin.

050c7a  No.818334

Side note: it's a useful sign to tell who is and who isn't virtuous. Fat people tend to have more vices and fit people tend to have more virtue.

Inb4 not all fat people

Gluttony is literally a deadly sin and fatness is the effect of gluttony. Being fat thus means having built a strong vice in the deadly sin of gluttony.

471fa9  No.818652

The point is that obesity is not a sin in itself, but rather a consequence of the deadly sin of gluttony.

317f1f  No.818843

Obesity is a state of being very overweight. Being in such a state is not a sin by itself. However, being obese is unhealthy, which both harms ourselves, and the common good of society by the strain the related health complications put on the medical system. So not avoiding obesity, not trying your best to not be overweight, is a sin, a violation of our duty to take care of the life God has given us, and a violation against charity, which necessarily seeks the common good of society. Obesity is also generally the result of gluttony, and a sedentary lifestyle, the latter of which is also unhealthy for body and mind.

God or nothing. If this is true, then why should I bother with anything else? Recently these three words have been haunting me up to the point that I consider my last two semesters to be the most severe period of procrastination of my life. I am at the very end of my studies but I feel nothing; no excitement, no desire to be done with it; nothing. Because why should I study? My studies will not make me closer to God in any way. Yet I feel the pressure to finish my studies: I do not want to see the disappointment on my parents face. That is the only thing that kept me going.

And surprisingly I am not failing. Even though I worked only on days before exams, I passed with average grades. Finishing the studies is perhaps also what is scary to me. I will be expected to enter the job market, search for a slave job I do not want. I fear that once I enter that world, all will be lost for me. Why is it that consecrating your life to the engineering of some temporal, useless gadgets is seen as something great, but consecrating your life to God is wasting your life.

How on earth am I supposed to exit this damned loop? I do not want to study or work because I fear that I am wasting my time by not consecrating it to God, yet at the same time the societal pressure keeps me on the edge of my studies. Which during the past 9 month resulted in me generally not doing anything good at all. As I said I crammed during all-nighters before the exams, but other than that I just… lived. I went biking. I read some books. I gardened. So I do not think that I am depressed, but I simply do not know what to do with myself. The only thing that I wish is to do something to help the poor; to join a monastic order. But I am to scared of what that implies.

just an extract from the instrumentum laboris of the Synod

"There is a need for a process of discernment in relation to the rituals, symbols and celebratory styles of indigenous cultures in contact with nature, which must be assumed in the liturgical and sacramental ritual. It is suggested that the liturgical celebrations be festive, with their own songs and dances, in tongues and with original costumes, in communion with nature and with the community.A liturgy that corresponds to their own culture, to be the source and summit of their Christian life (SC, 10), and linked to their struggles, sufferings and joys. The sacraments should be a source of life and medicine accessible to all (EG 47), especially to the poor (EG 200). It is asked to overcome the rigidity of a discipline that excludes and alienates, in favor of a pastoral sensitivity that accompanies and integrates (AL 297) In view of a salutary "decentralization" of the Church (EG, 16), the communities ask Episcopal Conferences to adapt the Eucharistic rituals to their own cultures." Lol, just because you were born an raised a pagan doesn't give you a free pass from the sins you commit in life. If your shitty religion has you commiting buttsechs on others or murdering people or a other sins, you will be held accountable for it. Besides, we live in the age of the Internet. Where near unlimited knowledge is accessible to anyone and everyone. Shit even in public school you are taught about the true religion. "Invincible ignorance" is extremely rare to come by in today's time.

There is no excuse to not become a Christian and come home to Rome.

a9cebf  No.818501

No. One has "invincible ignorance" when he hasn't had decent christian basics taught to him and after lots of research on its own came to an honest conclusion that it didn't make sense to him.

This means that everybody who grew up in school who had religious lessons about God, His Church and the bible have no excuse, but your average nomad on the steppes of Mongolia do.

Also, you cannot just go and say to every pagan/atheist "hey God exists and Christ is His Son cya!" and declare that they had heard about God.

God's not a pharisee, He looks at the spirit of the law not the letter.

accc3d  No.818524

Sinful life without massive repentance (not saying I don't have a sinful life, I am talking in the context of veneration), was an Arian at a point, attempted to use the authority of bishops for political purposes (calling the council was this, he didn't want this conclusion but the Holy Spirit guided them), an extremely violent character (I acknowledge ruler Saints but tend not to like them personally, all emperors/kings, etc, are violent by necessity), caused a Church Father to soften his whole position on Christians and violence, and such things.

710e7b  No.818529

1.the intrigue in his life was par for the course among monarchs and emperors, and not even the worst among Christian rulers. He did repent and was baptized eventually

2. He was not an Arian, he said that jesus and God were of the same substance and exiled Arius

3 he called the council to end the bickering between Christians

4. As you said, emperors are violent by necessity, so I don't know why you brought that up

I don't care that you don't venerate him, but to say his conversion was not genuine is just foolish. If he had stuck with the old gods he would have been revered like a god. Instead he chose truth and did what he could for the faith

The average person believes that sodomy is only few decades old and that before that it was unthinkable and had to be hidden, while in fact it was rather common in high society, Oscar Wilde famously comes to mind, or Marquis de Sade his "120 Days of Sodom" before that. I've just read this article about the liberal consumerist economist John Maynard Keynes, which claims that he had around 100+ homosexual encounters at the turn of the 19th century, and that sodomy was rather widespread:

>He had 65 encounters in 1909, 26 in 1910, 39 in 1911…

>The Cleveland Street Scandal of 1889 alerted wider society to the practice of men procuring GPO telegram delivery boys for cheap sex in makeshift brothels

What was the true extent of sodomy in the West before 1960, in the 19th century, 18th century, 17th century and before that?

What have the churches done about this, and what was their excuse for not doing more?

Sodomy is a disease that spreads, statistics has proven this since it's more widespread in recent generations. Afflicted men infect unafflicted men and boys and the disease spreads, people rarely repent. Therefore if it was rooted out earlier a great evil could've been prevented, so why was it allowed to get this far.

Sodomy has always existed, even in recent times. (Just look at the Wild West and the existence of brothels in nearly every town)

The problem is that society has largely condemned sodomy, prostitution and sexual degeneracy/perversion since the West became Christian. We are no reverting to pagan-tier society where sexual degeneracy is the norm, not that the strange and frowned upon outcasted minority.

How possible do you think is for the Orthodox-Catholic churches to unite and the Roman church to become one of the Pentarchy again, with all the honours and privileges it had before the schism?

I was looking at some videos and i realise that the Popes are already acting as one of the Patriarchs, maybe first among equals but still. The hegemonic attitude of the past is long gone. No more submit to Rome claims (irl not /christian/ LARP). A lot of theological dialogues and joint statements on dogmatical issues and misunderstandings have already been made.

How do you Cathos and Orthos feel about that?

>because Catholics will under no circumstances concede to the "first among equals" position.

There's certainly a way in which the Pope is "first" (no one will disagree with that) and a way in which the Pope and the other bishops are "equals" (or else, the Pope would be ordained in a different way than other bishops, but he's not - sacamentally speaking, he is a bishop, like other bishops).

It doesn't tell the whole story, of course, but it's not as if the formula "first among equals" is intrinsically unacceptable to Catholics. The issue is with what this "firstness" is and what the "equality" between bishops is.

Sorry now I read your post correctly. Yes, I think it's already somewhat accepted as a theologoumenon. Eastern Catholics (and I suppose many western ones too) read the philokalia. I know that a lot of Catholics visit Athos and other Orthodox monasteries. Regardless what people say in this board, the Greek monastic tradition is not considered heretical by the Catholic church.

When the Lord decides the proper reparations for the Schism have been paid. Remember the Lord could end the schism in a second if he so chose to do so but he refuses to for it is a part of his divine plan.

Now I am going to start mention Fatima so bear with me but I think either the first or last to come back into communion is the Russian Orthodox. Just by the fact Our Lady mentions specifically consicrating Russia to her Immaculate Heart and mentioned Russia in apparitions from 500 years ago. So the Lord still has a plan for Russia.

In my true opinion the laity are the ones who need to pray for reparations and fast for a miracle that will end the entire schism. Yes inroads have been made but as long as the issues are not addressed which probably won’t happen without divine revelations the schism will remain.

What do you think about the shortage of eligible men in the church?

>I can talk to any young woman in my social circle and they will, one and all, say the same thing: there just aren’t any men. What we mean by this is there is a frightening scarcity of men aged 25-35 who are church-going, single and worldly-wise.

>Most men I meet have two out of three of these qualities, with the latter often lacking. If they’re single church-goers, they’re usually awkward and in want of basic social awareness (a big turn-off for most women). If they’re more worldly, they’re generally not single or not religious. Even if they’re not religious, most young Australian men hold views and values that are left of centre and utterly opposed to our own.

Great post.

>I strongly suggest women start looking into male-run churches because, if they want strong, Christian men, they aren't going to find them at some wussy female-preacher, being gay is okay church

Yes, and truly male-run churches, mind you. None of this nonsense where you have a male pastor or two and several female "x directors" who really run things, or Catholic priests that are bullied into submission by Boomer women on the parish council.

>college educated ... people don't tend to be Christian

Ftfy. It's no wonder they aren't, given how most college professors actively feed their students an atheistic agenda. I would not consider those individuals to be "well educated", but rather "indoctrinated".

>worldly people don't tend to be Christian

If we are to assume "worldly people" means "those accustomed to how the world works", then no. Christians aren't the ones struggling with the meaning of their existences, killing themselves off in great numbers, barely reproducing (and when they do, it's typically by accident), supporting self-destructive policies, pursuing short-term pleasures over long-term rewards (e.g. having casual sex instead of raising a family), and so forth. If by "worldly people" you actually mean "those transformed by the world", then yes, those people are the opposite of Christians.

The long and short of Ben Shapiro is that he is the neocons attempt at appealing to gen z. They pushed him with those Ben Shapiro ANALLY RAPES feminist with FACTS AND LOGIC videos, but all he cares about is the US being brought into war for Israel's interest. Also he promotes the Judeo-Christian lie, which erases the importance of the Christian faith to the development of the West.

i should have read the bible then..

6bfd2d  No.818302

Yes. Catholics need to read the Bible otherwise they will have trouble with the prayers and dedications they do. It is also plenary indulgence to read Holy Scripture piously for half an hour also meeting the other requirements but yes Catholics NEED to read the Bible with all 73 books.

6bfd2d  No.818303

Also you sound like you are just getting started so don’t worry to much it is more about developing the habit early on the rest will follow if you recite it daily.

For a beginner just focus on each mystery as basically as possible then overtime develop deeper meditation with the help of Scrupture.

I suggest OP get the Laudate app. Their digital rosary comes with good, evocative little bits of text for each mystery, making it easy to picture in your kind.

And you can learn the Latin text with the app. I like Latin so I prefer that.

>Now I want to remind you, although you once fully knew it, that Jesus, who saved a people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who did not believe.

>Jesus, who saved a people out of the land of Egypt

I assumed this is referring to the Exodus, please correct me if I am mistaken

8bd79d  No.817433

The entire Bible, from start to finish, clearly can be used to prove the Trinity. Oneness heretics are a joke.

d59350  No.817435

It does refer to the Exodus. I speak of the other anon's claim that the verse prove trinitarian doctrine.

The KJV need not imply that nor do any other translations I quickly checked. The text you provided at least let me understand the claim which I missed on first reading. Thanks.

My Greek is not worth speaking of so if anyone can confirm why Lord/Kyrios in that sentence necessarily refers to Christ it would be great to know.

b3bd87  No.818007

the verse before uses the same word (Κυριος) to refer to Jesus Christ.

the verse before also talks of 'our Lord God' but the greek is written as: 'Θεου ημων'.

Genesis 1:26

And God said, Let US make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

Genesis 3:22

And the Lord God said, Behold, the man is become as one of US, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever.
