Doomers, Gloomers, Clowners, ideologues, and all. Suck it up or kill yourself. Fuck your memes.

You are living on the precipice of a new century and all I can hear all year all day is a bunch of slack jawed incompetents trying to tool the system into smashing good things we have going. Multiple narratives of the cyber-world into a psychological proxy war of established superpowers to destabilize the next. CIA / FSB / and whatever automated Chinese hackers scripts are running through the net. Democratic free speech doesn't allow us to think anymore. It has made us small. If you are above 25 to 30 years old, you are an adult that should have grown out of collegiate nihilism.

Microsoft: from zero to a Trillion dollar company that defined the personal computer market.

Amazon: from a tech boom ebay clone that sold obscure warehoused books, to the central source of international retail.

Google: from a garage search query platform to the one stop shop for global information.

Cucks complaining about monopolies of industries that never existed whose market share is reliant on bringing billions in new revenue that didn't exist decades ago. No true monopoly exists without government regulation. No natural monopoly exists unjustly without providing the best product on the market at the most efficient price. Nobody cares about Yahoo, MySpace, AOL.

Freedom and technology has eliminated jobs you really didn't want to do for opportunities that you never thought existed as a child. You are never getting it back. We have a bright exciting century ahead, and all we keep hearing about is the complaints of guys who've either fucked themselves or are too far unwanted to be worthwhile in the market. If the state is to exist as a strong central authority, it must be used to ruthlessly protect free markets responsible for exponential growth. Electoral infighting, Liberal Democracy, and every identitarian manifestation of the left must be silenced. Chinese Authoritarianism has done the greatest thing with political censorship, outlawing electoral parties, and the self-regulation of it's industry by technocratic leadership that has turned irrelevant fishinPost too long. In speaking of free speech given how social media sites deplatform people for anything these days, Do you think the same would occur in ancapistan and how could it be countered?

 No.101893

>>101887

It might occur to some localized degree, but I doubt we'd see the systematic banning and deplatforming of certain groups that we see today. For starters, the only benefit of mass deplatforming is the pursuit of political power. There's no monetary or financial benefit to doing so, it's just very expensive virtue-signaling. If there's no government to influence, there's no payoff to pursuing political power, ergo no reason to use your social media service to pursue that end. You have to remember that Facebook and Twitter, with the subsidies, exclusive contracts, and regulatory favoritism they receive, aren't truly private organizations engaging in the voluntary market. Rather, social media serve as the DNC's propaganda ministry, they are political actors and should be treated as such.

>Myths of Reaganomics

By embracing supply side economics, Reagan:

>grew GDP over one-third during Reagan's presidency, an over $2 trillion increase. The compound annual growth rate of GDP was 3.6% during Reagan's eight years, compared to 2.7% during the preceding eight years.

https://fred.stlouisfed.org/graph/?g=k9Ev

>the unemployment rate was reduced by 1.6% from 7.1% in 1980 to 5.5% in 1988; and the inflation rate fell from 13.5% in 1980 to 4.1% in 1988. The misery index, the sum of inflation and unemployment rate, shrank from 19.99 to 9.72 during Reagan’s term, the greatest improvement record for a President since Harry S. Truman. (pic related)

>During the presidency of Ronald Reagan, the American economy went from a GDP growth of -0.3% in 1980 to 4.1% in 1988, averaging 7.91% annual growth in current dollars. From November 1982, when Reagan’s economic policies began to take effect, to November 1989, shortly after he left office, 18.7 million new jobs were created; a record for a comparable period at that time. The amount of wealth produced during this seven year period was around $30 trillion worth of goods and services; again a world record. The economic reforms of Ronald Reagan resulted in one of the largest peacetime economic booms in American history. Reagan also simplified the tax code by reducing the number of tax brackets to four and slashing a number of tax breaks. This was done through his famous Tax Reform Act of 1986.(also pic related)

>According to a 1996 study[93] by the Cato Institute, a libertarian think tank, on 8 of the 10 key economic variables examined, the American economy performed better during the Reagan years than during the pre- and post-Reagan years. The study asserted that real median family income grew by $4,000 and during the eight Reagan years and experienced a loss of almost $1,500 in the post-Reagan years. Jan 17 1990-"The Reagan Boom - Greatest Ever"

>Almost everyone knows that the greatest depression the U.S. ever had was in the 1930's. It was known as the Great Depression, and its infamy merits a separate section in economics textbooks. But what was its counterpart? When did our greatest economic expansion occur?

>We just had it. And it is still expanding, setting new records with each passing month.

>We don't know whether historians will call it the Great Expansion of the 1980's or Reagan's Great Expansion, but we do know from official economic statistics that the seven year period from 1982 to 1989 was the greatest, consistent burst of economic activity ever seen in the U.S. In fact, it was the greatest economic expansion the world has ever seen - in any country, at any time.

https://www.nytimes.com/1990/01/17/opinion/the-reagan-boom-greatest-ever.html

Why do you think everyone is always so nostalgic for the 80s?

Every time the government wants to pass something horrible that past two decades, it's the same four excuses:

>X helps proliferate child porn.

>This is a tool to stop money laundering.

>Gotta get tough on terrorism.

>There's a human trafficking crisis.

I know there's a lot of people who come onto this board and meme "BUt whAt IF thE chILd COnsENts," but is the libertarian movement going to get crushed because you can basically justify anything an authoritarian does by remotely connecting it to "Cracking down on CP" (or terrorism or human trafficking or money laundering)? Increase TSA searches because that cracks down on CP. Take away VPNs because those are used for CP. Take away Bitcoin because money laundering and only people selling CP would launder money. Take away everyone's gun because some hick in Virginia liked his gun and his cousin's mother-in-law turned out to have a ton of CP.

There's no talk about what would ACTUALLY stop this sort of stuff. It's always this fucking gut reaction. I'm getting kind of depressed by it.

Capitalism doesn't work.

Pic related. Imagine a construction company having to buy 10 bricks from this guy on the street, and then having to go to another guy on another street to buy 10 more bricks, and then to another guy on yet another street to buy some more, and so on… until they reach an amount of 10 000 bricks. It would take ages before any work is done.

How else would construction happen if the government didn't produce all the bricks and build shit for you? There are many examples like this, but they prove that ancap, markets, businesses, etc… are just a fantasy, and only fascism (but more specifically, national-communism) is the driving force of civilization, at least the commies got this part right.

>Whiteness. Race and the shifting codes of social privilege

>The aim of the course is to examine the concept of whiteness and its functioning in different historical, social and cultural contexts. During our classes we will analyse ways in which whiteness is constructed within changing systems of status hierarchy and pose a question about its relationship to a category of race. We will draw on theoretical approaches adopted in „whiteness studies”, discuss the origins and development of this research field and relate it to wider studies on ethnicity, race and racism. Referring to the works of sociologists, historians and anthropologists we will show how whiteness has organized and defined different forms of social privileged that is still perpetuated by the cultural patterns of valorisation operating in Western and non-Western societies. In this context we will also discuss whiteness in connection with issues such as culturally conditioned perception of the body and ideals of beauty, whiteness and class, whiteness and gender, whiteness and colorism. During the course we will not only focus on scholarly works but will also consider representations and problematizations of whiteness that can be found in literature, visual arts, film or advertising.

Let me give this a shot. These are just general principles I learned from people I know IRL who are very financially stable.

-Look into job opportunities and growth. Whether it is getting into an applicable stem job or climbing the corporate ladder. A good example of this is learning how to code along with other skills to expand your economic opportunities

-Diversify your assets. Many giants and average joes have been swept off their feet for relying too much on one thing. Invest in stocks, bonds, gold and other varied assets (liquid or otherwise) so that you have a good basis of wealth for yourself.

-Cut frivolous spending. With the desire for wealth some sacrifices have to be made (Unless you get really lucky of course). Try your best not to spend on things that will not benefit you financially in the long run like starbucks, expensive outings, etc. I'm not telling you to be a workaholic robot that never buys things that make them happy just because it has no financial incentive but you should be able to balance things and gauge how much you're willing to sacrifice without being miserable. The more you sacrifice the more gains you will potentially receive

-Always strive to learn. Everything is a learning experience one way or the other and in our society information is more important than ever. Learn about rising economic powers like china or the I.T sector, Learn about job and investment opportunities that might pay off in the future. Constantly living like this might be tiring for some but it is very rewarding in the long run.

I apologize if these are too abstract or cliche for you but that's the best I know as of the moment kek.

What is the difference between (relatively) free societies like the USA and Japan when it comes to culture? Why is it that Americans never really developed a unique culture despite having a lot of time and freedom to do so, but the Japanese were always a culturally rich nation, even well into the 21st century?

My own theory is that it's partly because of generational wealth and property rights, I don't believe it has anything to do with their race or with some super secret way they were brought up or any of that bullshit.

 No.101817

are you retarded or 15? America did a lot culturally for its own society and influenced the whole world, in almost all sectors, industries, media.

Don't repeat the lefitst bullshit of "america has no culture". America has been great, I would never live there but you can't tell it has no culture.

 No.101819

As an outsider, America has an amazing culture of individualism, liberty and freedom that many foreigners look up to! Even other countries at the other side of the world have taken the constitution and assimilated into their culture.

That's why it's a shame to me when America starts abandoning the very freedoms and liberties that made them great and I looked up to.

Don't forget anon Japanese animes were highly influenced by early old school disney animations. Grass is greener on the other side, Japan isn't the holy land you might think it is.

I would like to bring to your attention the direction in which the Monarchist/Neo-Reactionary movement is going: anti-capitalism. What's interesting here is that they criticize what they perceive as failures of capitalism from a coherently right-wing authoritarian position, rather than from typical Marxism.

The latest installment of this phenomenon is the rise of Carlylean Restorationist, who has been a very frequent and prolific blogger on Jim's and Spandrell's blogs (you don't have to know who these people are) before launching his own blog:

https://chromium.fashion.blog/

(It's not about fashion, kek)

What is interesting here is that he collects and articulates the anti-capitalist, pro-statist viewpoints of fellow Neo-Reactionaries, and does so in quite compelling a manner. So, at any rate, I'd suggest that some folks who browse this /liberty/ board look into CR's blog and see if they are convinced by what he's put forth.

Mises would be right, in my opinion, if all men were created equal. As it is, his way is the neoliberal way, and what we see around us (all of it) is real existing capitalism.

To the Hoppe piece, I'm certainly not saying time preference isn't real: it is. What I'm saying is that the argument Hoppe makes against democracy (lack of permanence/heirs makes elected leaders short-sighted and destructive) applies a fortiori to the joint stock corporation and laissez-faire capitalism in general.

>Mises would be right, in my opinion, if all men were created equal.

That's objectively false. Praxeology and free market economics are predicated on the fact that men are not equal–if men were equal, there would be no division of labor.

>What I'm saying is that the argument Hoppe makes against democracy (lack of permanence/heirs makes elected leaders short-sighted and destructive) applies a fortiori to the joint stock corporation and laissez-faire capitalism in general.

That's very different from what your shit-tier blogpost said, in which you misrepresented Hoppe's point to the point of deception.

> applies a fortiori to the joint stock corporation and laissez-faire capitalism in general.

This is false. First because there's a very big difference between the specific construction of joint stock corporations and "laissez faire capitalism in general;" as has already been established corporations are much more proliferated than they would be in a free market due to various tax and legal incentives, were this not the case they would be less common. Second because there's a world of difference between democracy and how voting works in a corporation (the fact that buying more shares gives you more votes already makes the two incomparable), how consequences are felt within a corporation, and how profits are distributed within a corporation. Teh comparison is superficial at best, and belies a lack of comprehension in how corporations operate, how democracies operate, or both.

>I'm not a nazbol but I think nazbols are spot-on

That makes you nazbol, bud. You're just another attention-seeking tard who thinks his special snowflake twist on a tired trend is better than all the others that came before it.
